SmokeStik Electronic Cigarette Family

Update and Warning: There has been a lot of negative reviews about this trial and about it being a scam and a ripoff. I have never used them and ordered from Direct E-Cig personally so I cant attest to personal bad experiences. For more information on this, check out the comments that users have left us on this post. On the upside, I did receive my new SmokeStik cigarette cartridges with the new and improved cartomizer. Highly Recommended. A review on the product is in progress.

** New SmokeStik review!

Electronic cigarettes are very popular these days. They allow those who are addicted to nicotine to continue the habit of smoking while not actually inhaling dangerous carcinogens and smoke. Many people hear about the electronic cigarette but are still hesitant to purchase one because of the cost.

Direct E-Cig is now allowing customers a chance to try the electronic cigarette for free. Just go to this website and sign up. Now you can try the electronic cigarette for the reasonable price of shipping and handling and then decide whether you want to invest in using electronic cigarettes for the long term. Other popular brands that we promote are LuciSmokeStik and the Cigana but they currently do not offer any free trial to use their products.

Direct E-Cigs are also produced in the United States of America so you can be assured that it is high quality.  Thsoe who founded the company purposely decided to have all their products produced as well as managed in the United States. This was mainly because of the concern many people had about the Chinese produced electronic cigs.

SmokeStik premium platinum jet electronic cigaretteSo all facilities and employees related to the Direct E-Cig company are located in the U.S.

If you are on the fence about purchasing electronic cigarettes because of the cost and because you have concerns about how effective they are, Direct E-Cigs gives you the opportunity to try them without forcing you to spend 200.00 or more dollars before deciding whether you like electronic cigarettes or not.

Life Changing Decision

I’ve smoked for a long time and have tried many smoking cessation devices. They all helped a little bit but nothing stuck for the long term. My friend introduced me to the electronic cigarette and i had a couple of puffs from his device. I thought it was pretty cool but I never thought I would buy one because of the cost.

When I saw the promotion for a free trial I decided to give it a try and I never looked back. It was a definitely a life changing decision. Electronic cigarettes are a bit heavier than I would like but the main thing is that it works and it has made me cut down on smoking a lot which is all I wanted!

I wouldn’t be suprised if the customer service was bad.. although I did get what I expected.. a trial of the e-cig for shipping and handling charges only. I also wouldn’t expect them to refund the shipping.

you just have to order with the right expectations.. I do wish customer service was always better.. thats one thing thats hard to work on.

I ordered the e cigarette but have not given it to the person I want to have it yet. I do not appreciate your sending me more cartridges that I did not order. I want to send these back and make sure they take the amount off my bank statement that I am sure you charges for already. Very dissatisfied with this procedure.

I received my e-cig trial last week and was extremely pleased! I have re-ordered another batter for a spare and xtra cartridges and atomizers. I think they are wonderful. I have had contact with customer service atleast 5 times to ask questions, and they always promptly answered me and were extremely courteous. Perhaps you did not follow the instructions on your box when it arrived. I am a Direct e-cig believer. I also tried smokingstick.com’s sample and was not pleased at all!

I am using these to quit reg cigs even if that is not what they are intended to do, they def help a lot for me. Have not had to call customer service to far so I cant rate that as of yet. I plan on ordering more asap. Recommended them to my daughter to help her quit or cut back on reg smokes. Im very happy so far.

BEWARE…RIP OFF…I tried the free trial…it is not free. I was billed 99.95 for the starter kit on the 14th day of the trial. Nothing in the ad’s indicate you must return the product or be billed the $100.00. Once they have your debit number, they will continue to bill you each month for “new product”.
The free trial, IS NOT FREE. If you do catch the scam and return the unit in time, you will still be billed for a restock fee ($10) AND $7.50 for EACH filter you tried. If you used all 10, you will be billed $87.50 and you WILL be charged. (Remember they have your card) When you get billed, your bank has their phone number, but if you call, you will encounter nothing but rude people who will not help you. Don’t use Direct E-Cig. Check with the BBB AND your local state Atty Generals office. Thousands of complaints of rip offs, not just a few.

Yes I ordered the “risk free” trial package and was shocked by the $110.00 charge I recieved just a little over 2 weeks later. How devious an unethical of this company to post a warning of other free trial scams when they were scamming themselves. I didn’t see any 14 day cancellation period requirement.

Where can I find the customer service number? I just want to know the date they’ll be shipping my monthly cartridge supply, and what day of the month to expect the charges to my card. I’ve hunted all over the site and can’t find a “contact us” or “customer service” tab to click.
I’ll appreciate the help, whether it’s a phone number or email or, preferably, BOTH!

This company has got to be shut down. You cannot cancel because they will not answer the phone or emails, so you cannot get the number that you have to put on the box to return it. I am disputing the charges on my credit card, but I do not know how that will work. I will have to cancel my only credit card and I have had this card for years. You will NEVER find a more blantant theft. If you try to cancel your order by email, they will still keep shipping every month. It seems that there is nothing you can do to stop this.

BUYER BEWARE! I ordered directly from e-cig to give as a gift and the product worked for a few hours and then stopped working. I called and let them know the product was defective. They then asked fort he user to call back so they can ttroubleshoot however all he got was a busy signal. I called to return product on the day I was instructed and they were busy or I was put on hold for over 20 minute! Today I finally got a hold of someone after sending a couple of emails and was told I was too late and would not get my money back. He also threatened me that calling the BBB would not help me and that they would fight it. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! He said they had a recorded call – I told him to listen to it so he would know what date I was told to call back and he said he didn’t have to. AWFUL PEOPLE!

It works like any other e-cig. However they get 0 stars for customer service / deceptive advertising / crappy product packaging. Absolutely 0 instructions came with product. So for the first time e-cig user(me) had to figure it out on my own. So here is how the 14 day free trial works. I ordered on 12/21. Got the email saying it is shipping on 12/24, get it on 12/28. They send it Fed Ex ground(longest shipping time) So my 14 day free trial turned into 7 day free trial. My bad for not reading entire website to figure out it is not a free trial. If this company has a great product they would not have to decieve customers to make maney. Buy your e-cigs from someone else.

Beware this trap, This is a clever Bait and Switch. I was referred to their page by what appeared to be a legitimate television news investigational report on new products. Interesting I have found no way to contact this “News station” Other than a Email address. They said in their investigation there was a free trial for DirectEcigs that only cost $4.95 for shipping to receive the Free Trial and gave a Link to get the deal they tested with great success! Once on the page you see all the news team found and the deal. I looked at the terms and all looked legit so I thought it was safe. so I took a chance and filled out the orderform and when I move to the next step, I was informed my order was entered. Then I looked at the Terms of service again at more detail and it was much different and I now am told I’ve approved shipping and charges for $99.95. And the 14 day trial starts the day of order, and would be shortened if the order was accepted for the “Trial”and I would be billed for the Trial kit and another “deal” would arrive. Remember, I was referred by what looked like a legitimete Television news station that had tested this and found no strings attached! None of this was clearly explained prior to the order and I spent hours trying to get them to answer the phone to cancel my “trial”. The representative claimed it was all on the website clearly. It appears they possibly hide it in the Terms all the things you agree to pay and I can’t say for sure there are not 2 different TOS pages used. I do not recall anything agreeing to these charges in the first TOS I read and when I saw the TOS on the ordering page it was in the same place as the one I just read. So I didn’t feel it necessary to read the TOS again.
I contacted the Federal Trade Commission and opened a case. They are based in Naples Florida and I’ve contacted the local authorities there. I’ve contacted the card issuer to inform them of the activities by DirectEcig.com and then called back to directesig.com and logged the next call I made to them in which the representative confirmed that the order was canceled and no shipments or billings are pending and I notified them a case has been opened with the FTC and other authorities. I am expecting they will attempt to ship and charge my account or send me products I have not authorized. So I notified the rep that no shipping or billing or fees are not authorized and anything received by mail will be received as a gift in compliance with USPS laws. I’m expecting them to get as much money as they can out of my account and once they find out it is a Gift card and limited, they will fluff charges and attempt to bill me and bring a case against me for collections using some seedy bottom feeding law firm that specializes in these trap and extortion scams. Once the government begins catching up to to this scam they will change names and continue with another internet scam. So Web Commerce takes another step backwards because of the professional criminals are staying 2 steps ahead of the law and they are using our legal system to extort money from honest law abiding people again. Be prepared the agents will give only their first name so they can deny all conversations. And even if you close your card account or change the account they will problably bill you anyway and try to collect or get a default judgement against you a for a inflated past due balance. I’ve seen this in court before and that is how they make money. Parasites on the system using the internet as a tool again.

What was advertised as a free trial showed up on my credit card as a $109.95 charge before I even had a chance to try the thing. I’ve disputed it, but I would imagine this company will be out of business before I get my money back. It’s not good to have your card number in the hands of a company like this, so I’ll have to cancel it and get a new card. My dad ordered this product for me, it was the free trial for the s&h. They automatically enrolled him in refills, when he declined that in the first place seeing it wasn’t for him. Then, instead of it being the $59.95 plus s&h like their site says, he was charged $109.00! The e-cig gives me a very upset stomach so I am not able to use it and now I am stuck paying for this device which I cannot use. When he called customer service to get information on returning the unwanted shipment, they told him he could no longer return it. He asked to speak to a supervisor and they would not let him do that either. I just sent an email to their customer service email address on their website, we will see how this goes…..

The Federal Trade Commission regulates fairness in advertising in the US. That is where complaints should be filed. (see below.)

After receiving notification of the pending $109.90 bill to be charged to my credit card, I notified Direct E-Cig via email that I had not placed an order for $109.90 and would not pay for it. (I thought they were shipping me ANOTHER starter kit). Their phone number was not working and they do not return email over the weekend. So I sent several emails both in response to their notice and from their website. Their eventual response was curt and threatening. They did, however agree to refund the charge if I returned the product. So I looked up false advertising and found this:

http://www.nysconsumer.gov/assisting/clhm/false.htm#free
The Word “Free” in Advertising
§ 16 C.F.R. § 251.1
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has provided guidance to businesses that use the words “free,” “gift,” or “bonus” in their advertising. If a consumer must buy or do something in order to get a “free” item, the following conditions must be clearly disclosed:

•When making “free” or similar offers, all the terms, conditions and obligations upon which receipt and retention of the “free” item should be set forth clearly and conspicuously at the outset of the offer so as to leave no reasonable probability that the terms of the offer might be misunderstood.
•No “free” offer should be made in connection with introducing a new product or service offered for sale at a specific price, unless the offeror expects to discontinue the offer after a limited time and intends to sell the new product at the same price it was promoted with the “free” offer.
•If a purchase of a regular priced item must be made by the consumer in order to get the “free” item, the price charged must be the same lowest price that is most recently charged for a substantial period of time, i.e., a 30-day period.

I feel bad for anyone who didnt find out about the trickery within the trial period…The add I ordered from didnt have the small print terms on it unless you scrolled way down on the page was another freetrial with the fine print under it…So i canceled my credit card…I am not paying restock fees or anything more because the orderform I used did not have the terms and conditions on it…I wish they would stop calling me…These people should be in jail…I only use my credit card on amazon.com because I trust nobody anymore…

I feel extra dumb, usually at least looking for a scam. But I was pretty excited. Gonna call today, hope enough complaints have come in that they are human, mine wasn’t these particular guys but Ravenecig. To make it worse, the 4 other ‘cartridges’ are just the plastic base with a removable rubber tip.

No way to attach no nicotine inside either part.

(spacing for emphasis)

A way worse scam than this company seems to be.
