Sometime’s it’s hard to tell when the electronic cigarette cartridge is out. If you read many instructions it will tell you the same thing that amounts to “if it runs out of vapor or loses flavor”. This may be true but from my experience the cartridge doesn’t just run out of vapor or lose flavor in such a black and white fashion. It’s a gradual process where the cartridge starts to lose flavor sometimes, then next thing you know it’s back again. Some puffs are empty of vapor and then it’s back again. Some puffs taste like nasty chemicals and some taste perfectly fine. Unless you have a huge stock pile of cartridges which can be costly, you don’t want to just throw it away once it starts to run out.

So what’s the answer that I propose? To be honest I have no good answer and it probably does vary based off the type and design of the cartridge as well as the electronic cigarettes. I was hoping to get some good feedback from our readers to see what their experiences are. But this is what I do:

I typically just wait till the flavor taste like crap first before I switch cartridges. This happens even before the vapor is gone. You can still get a good amount of vapor but it would taste a bit like smoking gasoline. How do I know what smoking gasoline feels like? just go to any gas station and you can take a whiff of the fumes, it’s kind of like that. So when I start to get that nasty fume taste, I put it down. I then pick it back up and try a couple more puffs JUST TO MAKE SURE because sometimes it still has many good puffs afterwards (the inconsistency!!) Then i throw it out.

So if anybody has tips for me let me know. I smoke the SmokeStik’s btw.

One big problem I had when I first purchased the SmokeStik was that the cap/cartridge was extremely hard to remove. It was so frustrating I thought that I made a big mistake in even buying this brand instead of the Cigana or Luci electronic cigarette brands without even being sure that those brands had easier replaceable cartridges. If anybody has a better way of removing the cartridges without giving your fingers blisters, let me know, if not, I will tell you what I do.

It’s a simple solution, nothing fancy. Just don’t cap the cartridges all the way. The SmokeStik electronic cig is tight enough to stay airtight without worrying about air escaping:

For those who first purchase this device it’s natural to want to cap it as tight as possible. That’s because they aren’t aware of the fact that it’s so damn hard to get off! Although after a certain length the air will escape and some of the liquid will come out of the crevices so I wouldn’t go too crazy with it (Don’t do this):

First Electronic Cigarette Drag

After taking a first hit of the electronic cigarette, which was the SmokeStik brand, I noticed that there was still a sting to your throat when you inhale a good amount. I gave my friend a puff of the cigarette and he actually choked and coughed on it. So it’s not like inhaling just mist or air. There’s some punch to it, especially because it is a concentrated amount of vapor gathered up.

The Feeling

The first vaping session I had was pretty bad. It’s not really like smoking so you don’t get that immediate head rush, or at least I didn’t. I did notice a good amount of vapor inhaled but I didn’t get the feeling of smoking too much. Because of this I took too many drags my first time around, didn’t stop, and got a bit nauseous. I had some stomach pains and had to rush to the restroom a couple times since it was too much of a rush for my system.

But, I didn’t feel like smoking regular tobacco cigarettes. Which is good and the main reason why I wanted to start vaping and usign electronic cigarettes. Sometimes when it’s been a really long day, I feel like having a regular cigarette and I don’t feel like using the electronic cigarette at all. But if I refrain myself from having a regular tobacco cigarette and take a couple drags off my nicotine filled electronic SmokeStik cigarette, the cravings dissapear.

So if you’re having a problem quitting and stopping regular cigarettes, try taking a couple drags of the e-cig before you think about smoking tobacco.

TIP:

Take a couple small breaths first to warm up the device and then take a long drag and inhale. You may have to learn to adjust your dosage amount accordingly. Some people who smoke a lot may not have a problem with smoking the electronic cigarettes non stop for hours while others may get sick after a couple puffs off high concentration nicotine cartridges. That may be one of the issues that cause the FDA in the United States to have problems with electronic cigarettes, the difficulty of managing dosages of nicotine using thedevice.
