Many people in different countries of the world are working together to achieve a safer and cleaner environment. Most Billboards, commercials, and newspapers are aiming to educate children and adults about the harmful effects of smoking cigarettes. There have been efforts to ban smoking in areas like bars, restaurants, malls, airports, and many other indoor places. Smokers are not the only one affected from the harmful effects of smoking, but also the people around the smoking area especially children and pregnant women.
Egypt as one of the top smoking countries in the world is aiming to totally stop cigarette smoking. Men and women especially teenagers are learning to smoke each day. Other countries are also following the United States effort to eliminate the cigarette smoking habit. Korea for example has various non-smoking programs like declaring “smoke-free zone” in areas flocked mostly by teenagers and children. Through this campaign, people will be aware that the zone area are not meant for smoking and is a government law. The percentage of smokers in these areas has been reduced.
The government faces this big hurdle of totally vanishing cigarette smoking in the country. Organizations like World Health Organizations and World Lung Foundation are helping the world to prevent the spread of smoking and the harm it may cause more to environment.
Each country in the world is hoping to provide people the information and the courage to stop smoking. With all the diseases that results from smoking, people now are more aware of its disadvantage. Percentage of people smoking around the world has decreases through the help of the government campaigns. The more countries that will join the fight against smoking, the more people will be saved from death. As people tend to realize the danger of smoking to their heath and to their loved ones, pollution also decreases.
